Living by Design or by Default?

There's a quote from Ernest Holmes that's been on my heart all week:

"We are not building a new religion--we are freeing the soul of man."

The essence of Science of Mind is just that:

Not to convert. Not to conform. But to free the mind from limitation so the soul can fully live.

Last Sunday, we began our new series--Blueprint for a Conscious Life--with Step One: Prepare the Ground. Together, we explored the inherited ideas we've been standing on... beliefs we didn't choose, but that still shape the lives we're living.

And now we arrive at the next step:

"Living by Design or by Default?"

Here's the heart of it:

Is this the life I built... or the one I inherited?

It's a powerful question. Because even when we clear the ground, we often find ourselves picking up old tools out of habit. Building from the familiar, instead of the free. Ernest Holmes reminded us that:

"We are seeking to lead people to the Truth which frees the soul."

-- The Holmes Papers, Vol. 1

Truth isn't a new set of beliefs to memorize. It's the framework of your own inner knowing--and every time you choose to live from that place, you are consciously building a structure that can actually hold the life your heart longs for.

So this Sunday, we'll begin to frame the structure of our lives--beam by beam, thought by

thought--with conscious intention. And if parts of your life still feel inherited or automatic, that's okay. This teaching doesn't shame us for waking up late. It simply invites us to wake up.
