The House that We Are

As we move forward together, it’s important to pause and acknowledge just how far we’ve come. This past year has been a time of transformation—not just in programs and planning, but in heart, in spirit, and in the deepening of our collective faith. We’ve clarified our mission, committed to our values, and laid strong foundations for sustainable growth. But the house we’re building isn’t just about space—it’s about the soul. It is the body of us—the people who show up, serve, give, pray, laugh, cry, and grow together. This house is alive because you are alive within it.

This journey is not without challenges. Change often asks us to release our personal preferences in order to see the larger, more collective vision Spirit is calling us toward. And that’s not always easy. Sometimes when changes feel overwhelming, I invite us to pause and ask: Why is this change occurring? In my role as Senior Minister, I trust my inner knowing—my spiritual intuition—with confidence that it is Spirit offering me a greater vision to share with you. And you can trust that same wisdom within yourself. We are guided, each of us, by a divine impulse to create a thriving center. A thriving center is not defined by money or size, but by commitment, energy, and the spirit of welcome. It is vibrant. It is alive. It is communal.

I invite you to close your eyes and feel what it’s like to walk into a place that feels like home. That energy—the warmth, the welcome, the aliveness—that is the heart of what we do. Yes, aesthetics matter. We want a space that is clean, beautiful, and held with care. But the foundation of this house is not built on what hangs on the wall—it’s built on love. No one has ever said they wouldn’t come to my home because there’s a Buddha on the shelf. That’s not the point. We are here for the inner journey and the shared awakening. We won’t always agree on every decision, but we can agree on this: we are becoming. As Ernest Holmes reminds us, “When one person awakens to the truth of their being, the whole world is lifted.” Let us be that house. Let us be that home.
