The Three C's: Clarity, Consensus, and Commitment

(Part of our “Agreements • Alignment • Why” Series)

Dear Beloved Community,

This week we’re exploring three powerful spiritual tools—Clarity, Consensus, and Commitment—that strengthen our agreements with ourselves, each other, and Spirit.

Clarity – Seeing and Speaking Truth

Clarity is knowing exactly what we promise. A vague hope like “I’ll help out sometime” often leads to missed expectations. But saying, “I will greet newcomers this Sunday at 10:15 a.m.” turns intention into action. Clarity honors both our word and our relationships.

Consensus – Moving Together in Harmony

Consensus doesn’t mean everyone always gets their way—it means we listen deeply and seek a shared way forward. In community, consensus is how we remain connected even when our preferences differ. It’s how teams flourish, families stay strong, and spiritual centers thrive.

Try this: next time a discussion arises, ask, “What shared vision are we serving?” Consensus is found when we remember the bigger picture.

Commitment – Showing Up with Love

Commitment is the courage to keep showing up—even when it’s inconvenient or when enthusiasm fades. Every chair set up, every song sung, every prayer spoken is an act of commitment that sustains our sacred space. Commitment says, “This community matters, and I’m part of its unfolding good.”

Practice for the Week

  • Reflect: Where do you need more Clarity in your life or service?

  • Discuss: With a friend or family member, practice Consensus by listening for shared values rather than debating differences.

  • Act: Choose one small Commitment to CSL Prescott this week—perhaps attending a class, helping with setup, or simply offering a heartfelt welcome to someone new.
